Many of you will be aware that the community shop committee plan to rent the space to the rear of the Elmsett Village Hall to locate the village shop, now adapted for this purpose.  Our Manager, Amy Hill, has been appointed and we will shortly be starting training for the volunteers that will be running the shop day to day.  We have been overwhelmed by the support from the community for our fundraising events, but we still need to raise approximately £50,000 to purchase the fixtures and fittings for the shop and cover the purchase of stock and running costs for at least the first 6 months.  We will be continuing with our fundraising efforts but are also looking at other ways of raising the funds we need so that we can open.

The Steering Group is made up from a number of local residents who have worked tirelessly to bring this local service to fruition. Having secured the services of Amy Hill to become manager of the shop she will be overseeing and training the wonderful group of volunteers who will be on the front line when the shop is open.
